We have implemented drag and drop in gridview and treelistview. Now we are trying to implement separator when an item or items are being dropped to the destination just like the telerik silverlight example for 'Drag and drop: tree to grid drag'.
I have attached screenshot of the telerik example.
Again, it would be great is someone could point me to right direction about adding line separator when items are being dropped in GridView or Treelistview

Hi Swostik,
If you use RadTreeListView you will get this behavior out-of-the-box as demonstrated in this online example.
Kind regards,

i did look at that example but it doesn't lookin like there are any properties that i can simply set to true or false or set some data template to enable separator.
if not, do we have to change the template of treegridview / gridview to show and hide this separator when dragged?

Hi Swostik,
No need of properties to set or change templates when you do drag and drop with RadTreeListView.
If you follow the code in example mentioned there should be no problem with the drop position indicators.

We have followed the example and it still doesn't appear in RadTreeListView for us and we want this separator to be visible in grid view too.
Also, before i got your reply i had also opened a ticket 509043 (view all your support tickets) with same issue.

Hi,
I have the same question here. When you see the examples it would be great if the user can see where the drop will take place. Better, in my case, would be if the item being dragged is hidden and then a drop indicator shows where it will be dropped.
so, any progress with this post?
Regards,
Erik
