Hi Totti,

Thank you for contacting us.

Complex components like RadControls couldn't be supported out of the box by any automation tool. That's why I'd answer "no", as far as we are aware there is no automation tool outside Telerik supporting RadControls as users would expect.

WebUI Test Studio on the other hand is a product we develop internally. Thus the RadControls support is very important for us and we make sure our support is up to date with the latest controls release.

I hope that answers your question. Do not hesitate to write back if you have further inquiries.

Hi Totti,

Since I'm not a QTP user I base my assumption on the requests I've seen for QTP to support RadControls. I think this is more of a question for the QTP forums though.

Please let us know if there is something we could assist you with in regards to WebUI Test Studio and we will gladly help.

All the best,

HI Petkov,

I am also sailing in the same boat where looking to understand the ID generation for telerik design forms.

For all the teleric controls, I see some random number attached to it say 'flda_50_Input' and so on.... I believe that these are not the ID's given by developer and repalaced by frame works on page/ or form load. Am I making the right guess Petkov ?

The question for you is .. how a development engineer would be able to get the values entered in UI/front end and validate, before he/she stores in database ?
Definetely not through the above mentioned ID's like 'flda_50_Input'. They should have a static name/id to point to an object ?. Correct me if I am going into wrong assumptions.

All I need to know is, could telerik has any settings to enable static id/names to controls on server side, so that all the front end controls would get a static id/names ?
Your explanation on this is appreciated and would help the group to understand the telerik controls.

Thanks,
SAM.

Hello Sam,

This forum is dedicated to supporting our Test Studio product. We, the Test Studio support team, do not have the answers you are seeking. Please post this question in one of our many RadControls forum instead.
