Hi there,

We are planning on creating a quick mobile app, that will require push notifications and web sockets, in order to run.

I found this blog post about the Push Notifications - http://www.icenium.com/blog/icenium-team-blog/2013/04/17/push-notifications-with-cordova-icenium - so they seem to  be working,
but i didn't manage to find anything about web sockets ?

I know the problem in PhoneGap with WebSockets and the workaround is to use the following plugin: https://github.com/anismiles/websocket-android-phonegap

So, can Web Sockets be used in the current build of Icenium for Android devices ?

All the best.
Rado.

Hi Rado,

Yes, push notifications are supported (via PushPlugin) as of v1.3 of Icenium.

Regarding WebSockets on Android this plugin can be used to make it work. This plugin cannot be integrated in the current version of Icenium, but will be in the next one with our support for custom plugins. The next update of Icenium is expected really soon - end of June.

Hope this helps.

It helps - thank you.
End of June sounds nice.

Have you tested this integration in-house and does it work well (Or work at all) ? :)

You can see it for yourself in our last week's webinar here. It illustrates a scenario with the Keychain custom plugin, but it will work for any plugin described with plugin.xml.
