Need a document control solution. We tried useing SharePoint but for what we are looking for it was not working. Site needs to handle this process:
1. Document is uploaded into document library
On upload - Document Footer is replaced with custom. Minor version added to footer
2. Document goes through revision process
-Document is "Checked In/out"
-Document footer is updated to match revision (ie. if document library says document is .3 minor version, document itself says .3)
3. Document is ready for approval/publishing
-Workflow begins when document is set to publish major version
-On appropriate approval, document is updated to reflect major version as well as converted to PDF. The PDF will then move off the site into a file system or another site.
4. Solution needs to be able to roll back versions
5. Solution to use Office 2007
