I remember that RadRichTextBox did't support exporting and importing in DOC.It supports only DOCX.But I really have a need for DOC.Any chance that you will support that format in a future???Or may be any converter between DOC and DOCX files????

We will conciser introducing DOC format-provider (at least Import). However it requires significant reverse engineering efforts. In addition it is an older format that is rarely used from our customers thus the priority of this feature is not very high. That's why I am not able to specify with great certainty whether or when it will be available. List of new features for the next release (2011.Q3) is pretty filled up and most probably DOC support will not be included in this release. As a workaround you can use some other 3rd party tools to convert document formats, or MS tools and utilities like the following:

Let me know whether this helped.

Thank you for your interest in Telerik RadRichTextBox!
Doc format is fairly outdated, therefore is with low priority in our to-do list. It depends on our road map and I couldn’t be more specific about the time frame when this might be implemented. At this point the feature is not scheduled.
I could only recommend you to convert your document to one of the supported by the control formats. You can find information about all the supported file formats and the providers in this article.
Thank you for understanding.

Hello Andrei,
The DOC format is still not supported in RadRichTextBox. We have logged a feature request for it in our public portal: RichTextBox: Support for .doc documents. Please, make sure to cast your vote for its implementation and subscribe to receive notifications about status changes on the task.

Hi Tanya,
I'm getting this when I try to convert PDF to text.
Unable to cast object of type 'Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.FormatProviders.Old.Pdf.DocumentModel.Data.PdfInt' to type 'Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.FormatProviders.Old.Pdf.DocumentModel.Data.PdfDataStream'.
My references:
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Common.FormatProviders;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.FormatProviders.Pdf;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.Model;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.FormatProviders.Text;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Fixed.FormatProviders;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Flow.FormatProviders.Docx;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Flow.FormatProviders.Txt;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Flow.FormatProviders.Rtf;
using Telerik.Windows.Documents.Flow.Model;
Any ideas?
Regards, Andrei.
Hi Andrei,
Looking at the exception, it seems like there is an issue with the structure of the document. However, I will need to test the specific document to find out what exactly the reason behind the error is. The public forum allows you attaching image files only. If you would like to privately share documents, you could use our support system to do so.
On a side note, I would like to mention that we strive to keep our public forums in good order and the topics inside consistent. Since this question concerns the API of the PdfProcessing library while the thread is in the RadRichTextBox for Silverlight section, I would like to ask you to open new threads in the respective section for the different questions you might have.
Regards,
Tanya
