Today I found a link to GhostLog on my Twitter feed.  GhostLog is an Android app that displays the logcat buffer in a system overlay window.

Since console logging on Android 4.4 is broken at the moment I thought it would be a good thing to post this here. You can find GhostLog on Github here https://github.com/jgilfelt/GhostLog and you can download it from Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.readystatesoftware.ghostlog.

Enjoy!

Hi JD,

You'll be glad to know that we've managed to identify the problem with the logs not displaying for connected Android 4.4 device and a fix for this issue would make it for our upcoming release at the end of January.
