I just installed 2012.2.815.1 on my development PC - which is running VS-2010 on Win7

Now it is imposing a 'Metro' style for a the Just-Code menus and windows, which is a clash with the rest of VS and the O/S, and I find it distracting.

Is there any way to make it honor the style of VS and the O/S  ??

It looks pretty good under 2010 in my opinion. Only the font in smart tag menus appears too bold, no?

After using the latest build (815) for a while I can say that the font issue is rather serious as it actually hurts my eyes.
You see you work on the code, your eyes are used to certain font characteristic and then you fire up an smart tag menu and experience an unpleasant shocking effect. You kind of need to re-focus. This is individual of cource but this is an issue.

I'm totally fine with the new restyled controls but fonts are no game, they affect readability and eye tension.

Please, at least provide an option to get back to regular fonts. Those used in previous builds were great.

Also, font used now in tools windows (search results, errors and warnings, etc) is too pale and thin. It looks really bad on a crappy 96DPI monitor that I have to use sometimes. I'm going to check it on my laptop that has higher DPI later on.

Hi,

 Thanks for the feedback.
This is only a preview version which we will improve further in the next releases. Regarding to the font, we will keep that in mind.
Thanks for writing and please stay tuned.

Hi Zdravko,

I've checked how it looks on my 15' laptop (full HD, 120 DPI). The font in tooling windows looks good and the bold font in smart tag windows is less stressing though it's kind of 'sticking out' and I seriously see no reason why it should be.

But again, on a 23' one that's stuck with 96 DPI by its nature the new fonts make my eyeballs bleed. And it's connected through DVI and I didn't have a problem with it with the previous JustCode build.

Please, get the old fonts back, at least make it configurable.

@Zdravko

Yes, sorry... I should have made it clear that I installed the latest internal build.

The comment was intended as feedback for that context - to hopefully make it configurable by the next Q release.

I second that. Please have JC honor the Visual Studio version; use metro for 2012 and colors for 2010, 2008, etc.

Also, please note that the metro style in the JC Errors window seems to be taking up more space than the color version did. In any case, the header and filter bands need to be made shorter in metro.

I am using JC 2012.2.815.1.

Hi,

 @ Bill
We will think about that too. We are still in designing process and nothing is final.
Thanks.
