Different events fired when moving an appointment

I have a scheduleview populated with a custom appointment class. When I drag and drop sessions within the scheduleview I get different events firing, initially it will go through the appointment_editing/appointment_saving/appointment_edited cycle the next time I move the same session it fires  show_dialogue.

Can you shed any light as to why the behaviour might be changing?

My apologies just figured out the recurrent appointments need to pass through the dialogue event
