Default tasks for a story?

Is there any way to create default tasks that will be added to a new story?

IE every story we create needs a QA task and a Merge task so it would be easier if they were already there.

We have similar tasks for the QA and documentation and this feature will be very helpful.

We've already had similar feature request in our backlog and I'll increase the votes for it.

I would like to second this request.  We have certain cases where a 'Task Template' would be nice.  Each template could contain one or more tasks that would be applied to the user story.  For some very small yet repetitive projects, we set up a parent user story with several child user stories, each child user stories has several associated tasks.  In this given scenario - the tasks are all the same.  

To be able to chose a 'task template' would be very helpful.  Default tasks specific to a project would be helpful as well, just not as much so.

 Thanks for the clarifications. What we have in our backlog is a story for creating story templates. This will include specifying some default tasks for each template. Unfortunately we cannot commit with a release for adding this functionality, as it has not been planned yet.
