[Solved] DateTime column disappears on filter attempt

Problem:  After applying a Filter to a DateTime column on RadDataGrid, the column simply disappears never to return.  This is different from the behavior of all other datatype columns, which get a blue underline instead.  Bug?  I see no unhandled exceptions in the trace.

Thank you for using RadControls for Windows 8.

Unfortunately, the information you have provided is insufficient to reproduce the issue. I have prepared a sample runnable application that uses a RadDataGrid with DateTime column and it filters its dates as expected. Could you please take a look at the project and modify it in order to reproduce the issue, or elaborate a bit more on the setup of your grid.

I also noticed that you are not using the latest version of the controls. I encourage you to update to the latest internal build (2013.2 806). You can get it using the Telerik Visual Studio Extensions or from this link when you are logged in on the site: http://www.telerik.com/account/your-products/internal-builds.aspx

Spoke too soon, when I attempted to use the vstudio extension to pull the Windows 8 XAML update, it gave me version 2013.2.611.45, which is a downgrade from 2013.2.716.45 which we initially installed from a local share.

The DateTime columns no longer disappear on that version, but it has a "Layout Cycle Detected" issue with RadDataGrid on the Surface Pro (touch-enabled device.)

How can we get 2013.2.806, it does not appear to be available in the updater?

Hello,

To download the latest internal build you should either use a licensed account or renew the trial period of the current account. Then you can access it through your account -> products & subscriptions -> latest internal builds.
