I have a test Case which is binded to a excel sheet to fill in the data from excel.

Now, some columns in excel have some formula's to calculate amounts, dates and some other thing (which is being updated each time excel is opened and some data changed). But in telerik, the data is kept which was initially bounded, and have to manually update the binding in order to get the latest data from excel sheet.

Is there any way in telerik that it picks the latest updated data all the time, when data binding is used( Please suggest).

Hi Shashikant,

Please note that once a file is bound to a project a local copy is created for the project under project root folder/Data. Therefore this is the file that needs to be updated to reflect your latest changes. You could easily manage it through the Test Studio UI as well.

Let me know in case you need further assistance. Thanks!

Hi Elena,

Thanks for your response, but I still have a doubt that I am using some date and sum formulas in my excel file which is placed in project root folder/Data and the test which is binded with this file is still picking the old(initial) values, for workaround I manually have to click the Update button on the Bind Test UI only then new values are picked.

Is there any solution in telerik so that it can pick the latest values from excel file all the time?

Hello Shashikant,

Thank you for getting back to me. I reviewed your feedback and tested it on my side. I managed to reproduce the same and therefore I submitted a bug report to our public feedback portal for further investigation. Here you could follow its progress, comment and vote for the issue.

Until a resolution is published you could use the workaround you have found by yourself. Thanks in advance for your understanding!
