[Solved] Customize ASP.NET MVC Grid Edit Template

In the new Telerik ASP.NET MVC controls. How does one customize the grid edit template whether in-form or popup. Better still how can one just create their own and have it used instead.

I had the same problem and this is how i solved it:

- Remove the default edit button of the grid (or all the buttons)

- Create a new column with your custom buttons

- onClick function of your button use javascript to create a telerik window which renders a partial view inside(or anything else you want)

something like this:

var window = $('#EditWindow').data('tWindow');
window.content(data);
window.open();

#EditWindow' is a partial view that inside, it renders the telerik window
