Hi,

Is it possible to create custom tooltips (data templates?) for business object shapes in a diagram? If so, have you a small example you can share?

I have a shape style defined for my data bound shapes. I currently can use a content template fine within the shapestyle and if i bind a simple value (text) to a tooltip within the style its also fine. However, I would like to display a more useful custom tooltip with additional information for the business object in the shape.

If i try and create a more complicated tooltip, I unfortunately just keep getting the error 'Value does not fall within the expected range' when i hover over the shape. I'm not sure if this is something i'm doing wrong, a bug or something which is not possible.

Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,

I'm not sure what might be causing this exception. Can you please take a look at the attached sample solution and let me know if it works for you, or if I'm missing something from your approach?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Thanks, it seems if I simply add the Tool tip in the content template as per your example it works fine. I should have just done this in the first place rather than trying to set the value of the tool tip service in the shapestyle.

Thanks
Doug
