Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding custom modules and Sitefinity Site Sync. The scenario is: I built a custom module following custom module examples provided by sitefinity (Locations module) and installed it, then I tried to synchronize the site where I installed my custom module with another site, but my custom module was not in the option list of content to synchronize. I can synchronize pages, blogs, news, etc... but not my module.

Is this a feature that is missing from Sitefinity? Or maybe I am missing something in my module creation?

Regards,

Dehivis.

Hi Dehivis,

As you properly pointed out, SiteSync does not support synchronizing custom (created through code) static modules and their content items. Is there a particular reason why you need to use a custom static module, instead of defining your custom content type using a dynamic module? The latter approach is preferable as it requires no additional code and is controlled entirely from the UI, as well as it's fully supported by SiteSync. For more information about Dynamic modules in Sitefintiy you can check this article form our documentation: https://docs.sitefinity.com/overview-dynamic-modules-and-the-module-builder.
