I was able to convert a word document to PDF using telerik wordsprocessing (https://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/wordsprocessing/exporttopdf/defaultvb.aspx?show-source=true),this works excellent for simple word documents and not for documents like certificates or a background image with text on it.
Does Telerik WordsProcessing support conversion of word document such as certificates or any documents with background image and text on top of it?
If not , will this be fixed in next update?
Is there any other control or way to convert word( like certificates) to pdf ?

Thank you for the sample document.
The example contains two features that are currently not supported in RadWordsProcessing.
This first one is the image - it is defined as a floating image, which is currently not supported when converting to PDF. We have already logged a feature request for that conversion and you can vote for its implementation as well as subscribe to track its status using this feedback item.
The second functionality is related to the text boxes - they are represented by content controls. Here is the public item which you can use to vote and subscribe: Add support for content controls.
I am afraid that I am unable to suggest you another tool which will support the above features so you can convert the documents to PDF. Please, make sure to cast your vote for the implementation of the functionalities using the public feedback items.

Are there any updates on this? Are images/background images still not supported for docx to pdf conversion?

Yes, the floating images are still not supported in the PdfFormatProvider class. Please, make sure to cast your vote for the task using the public request: WordsProcessing: Support for floating images when exporting to PDF.
