This seems pretty basic. I connect my iPhone to my computer via USB, iTunes recognizes it, but it never shows in AppBuilder's Device List. I am using the Visual Studio extension. I have tried both an iPhone and an iPad with the same result. I have tried an Android device as well, with the same result, but I am unsure if I have the latest usb driver installed, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carl,

Thank you for contacting us.

Could you please look at the prerequisites necessary for a device to be detected in the AppBuilder clients and verify that you meet the requirements.

If the issue persists, could you send us your logs from %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon\Logs in a support ticket so we can investigate further.

Thanks Ventsislav. So it sounds like you're saying that I need a provisioning profile, etc. even to get my iOS device to show up in the device list?

Hello Carl,

Please accept my apology as I should have elaborated more in my previous reply. The provisioning profile is not necessary for device detection.

The Connect Apple iOS Devices is the prerequisite I had in mind:
  1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes, if not already installed.
  2. To download iTunes, go to the iTunes section on the Apple website and click Download iTunes.
  3. Run Microsoft Visual Studio and open your project.
  4. Connect your device to your system via USB cable.
  5. If prompted, enter your password on the device to unlock it. Click OK to continue.
  6. In the main menu, click AppBuilder → Devices List and verify that AppBuilder lists your connected device.

If this does not resolve the issue, we will require the previously mentioned AppBuilder logs in order to continue our investigation.
