[Solved] column width and filter icons

We have disabled filtering on some columns of our grids, but the column does not seem to shrink like we were hoping.  So it seems that the icon was just hidden rather than being removed I would assume.  Can this please be confirmed and if this is the case, is there a solution?

Hello Daniel Collier,

The filtering icon is not rendered at all when the column is not filterable. To decrease a column's width simply set lower width value via the Width() method

That's a disappointing answer.  It would be fantastic to be able to avoid hard-coding a table-cell width (for many reasons).  It would be a fantastic build if the filter icon wasn't rendered.

Hello Renee,

I am not sure I understand your concerns. The filtering icon is not rendered when a column is not filterable. There is some padding set by default for all columns which affect its width. If you need to tweak the default padding you can customize the skin which you are using. The Visual Style Builder can help a lot with any skin modifications.
