Column TextTrimming not working when Width=?*

As the title says, I was trying to use TextTrimming and it wasn't working. My columns had Width's like 3* and 4*, or even * and text trimming didn't work. Setting concrete values makes it work. Is this by design? Is there a way to have text trimming without having to specify concrete column sizes?

Hi Manuel,

 I'm afraid that you cannot have TextTrimming for star sized columns.
