Is virtualization supported in gridview columns when there are column groups?
When we create a grid view with around 1000 columns, virtualization seems to be working fine. However, when there is column grouping same number of records do not load up and we see a considerable amount of CPU usage.

There is still virtualization, but such performance problems are possible when there are many items. We have planned adding a new grouping mechanism that will be available with the upcoming Q3 2012 release. You can as well check this help article.
