We have support for special languages as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, etc. on our to-do list, but we have not scheduled them yet.
By specification, some predefined CMAP files should be present in the PDF file to assure the correct rendering of files using these languages. In fact, there is a way to display Chinese characters in RadPdfViewer. The only thing to do is to provide an embedded CMAP that describes the transformation from charID to unicode character. For example, if you export Chinese text from Word, there should not be a problem with the way RadPdfViewer displays it.

Without unicode capability, I feel we are living one generation backward :)
Hello Praveen,
As I mentioned in my previous post, there is a way to display unicode characters. However, your document should follow some rules.
The estimate time for full text support (with the new text rendering system) is for the Q1 release next year.

Thanks for the comment. I read already somewhere else about the CMAP method but did not find a good way to embed it via cpp or c#. We are generating PDFs dynamically using some third-party library but did not see such a low-level feature available.
I appreciate if you have some URLs to refer. I will publish the code snippt if a fix is found.
For now everything is according to plan and the refactoring of fonts is almost complete. Our next official release - Q1 2013, is expected at the end of February and should include the above mentioned feature.
I hope this information helps!

Yes the info helps. Waiting for the release :)
The font refactoring was complete in 2013 Q1, so if the fonts are embedded and the documents do not use predefined CMAPs, the files should be visualized correctly.
At this stage do not plan to implement the predefined CMAPs scenario as it is not common and will increase drastically the size of our DLLs.

Thank for your works, but it's still have some problems for display chinese characters in pdf viewer.
I had attached two files , correct.jpg and wrong.jpg.
They were screen captured from different viewers in same pdf file.
The correct.jpg is display correctly in Adobe Reader and wrong.jpg is show in Telerik Pdf Viewer.
If you need more informations, I can provide source pdf file.
Thanks for your help.
We will really appreciate if you can provide the PDF file to us in order to further investigate the issue with those characters.

Is there any news on this issue?
This issue is scheduled for Q2 with high priority. It is possible to be fixed before and the fix might be included in one of our next LIBs, however, it is recommended to use only official versions for deploying your applications.
The Q2 release is expected in the middle of June.

Q1 2016 Telerik.WinControls.UI.RadPdfViewer still unable to open this file correctly,
Is there have any official solution ?
Best regards
Chris
If you are generating this PDF from code you may try generating it with our RadPdfProcessing library. With it you can embed fonts registering the font data. Using this approach the generated PDF should be successfully opened in RadPdfViewer. For more information you may follow this forum post related to chinese fonts embedding.
I hope this is helpful.
