I have a few remarks about RadWindow:
  • I need to create a window that is resizable, but without the maximize/minimize buttons. I currently do this by hiding the buttons in the control template. I feel it is overly complicated to have to do this just to hide some buttons. The ResizeMode property does not give us a lot of options here. Could you not just introduce a few more properties, like CanMaximize, CanMinimize, CanClose etc. And also bring back CanResize from the "obsolete" status. I understand if you want to keep the number of properties down, but we need more control over this than we currently have. Alternatively, I guess you could come up with another way of controlling the various buttons individually.
  • When hiding the maximize/minimize buttons as stated above, the double click functionality in the title bar is not disabled. Is there a way to turn this off? If not, I think we need a property for that as well, such as IsTitleBarDoubleClickEnabled.

I hope the above makes sense, and that some of it makes it into the next version.

Best regards,
/Henrik

Oh, and another thing: AlwaysOnTop (bool) would be a great property when we need floating windows that should never be included in the stacking order, such as the Task Manager in Windows, where you can optionally select "Always On Top".

Hi Henrik,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! We've tracked them in our backlog and we will start working on them as soon as we can. Unfortunately the AlwaysOnTop feature won't be an easy one to implement as we don't have control on other popups in Silverlight than RadWindows and most probably we won't be able to implement it or at least implement it completely.

We scheduled the other features just after the Q3 release as we already planned our work till then. The release is planned for the beginning of November. Hope this time-frame is good for you.

I second that.
It's really strange that you allow to hide the maximize but not the minimize?
Not all windows that allow resizing have either of these buttons.
A Windows 7 wizard is a good example...

Any idea when you are going to fix this?
This was requested a year ago and still hasn't been implemented!

Hello Colin,

This feature (hiding minimize and close buttons separately from the WindowResizeMode) is planned for Q3 2010. Hope this time-frame is good for you.

That's great news thanks!

Can you take a look at the weird bug is you have set a minimum size to the dialog?
Pressing the minimize button in this use case removes the content but leaves the windows the minimum size.
I don't think this is the expected behavior :)
