Cannot Uninstall...NorthwindOA.mdf

We purchased the suite and the instructions say to uninstall any trial versions.   When I try to uninstall ORM I get the following message.

Error reading from the file E:\Program Files\Telerik\OpenAccess ORM\examples\ExamplesWin\Data\NorthwindOA.mdf.  Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I tried detaching it from the database.  No change.
I tried sutting down SQLServer 2008.  No change
I tried stopping the web server.  No change.
I verified that no process has control of the files by copying them to the trash and restoring them.
I rebooted.  no change.

Since the only option is to retry (which always fails) or cancel (which aborts the un-install)  I am not able to un-install the trial version of this product.

This is very frustrating.  Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue while attempting to remove ORM Q1 2009 to replace it with ORM Q2 2009. What was the solution?

EDIT: Found the solution. Set the permissions of the files to allow the computer administrators group to full control and the files were removed without an issue.

This is the response they sent.  manually deleting then creating a dummy file worked.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have come across this error but could not evaluate what was causing it because it happens on a random basis. Note that during installation, the installer program asks you for a server that will be used to attach the demo database. By default this is (local)\SQLEXPRESS. If you have not changed this option, then the database is attached to your sqlexpress server which is running in a separate process than SQL Server 2008. If this is the case, please try stopping the sqlexpress server during the uninstallation.
If this does not help, delete the database manually and create a dummy text file in the same directory with the same name - NorthwindOA.mdf. Make sure the extension of the file is changed from .txt to .mdf. Then the uninstall should go as expected.
We are aware that this workaround is far from elegant but it should work until we fix the problem with the installer. Hope that you will not experience such issues with our products anymore, but if you do, please do not hesitate to contact us.
