Edit: The title should say "Can we talk about this Blog?"

Well, I'm posting this in SL forum but this Blog on Astoria doesn't say anything about ADO.Net Services and your SL products.

So, now that I see telerik is on the for front with Astoria, my questions is, what is your plan about incorporating the Client side of Astoria with your products to make the data binding and usage a uniform marriage?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Ben,

Yes, we will be providing examples demonstrating databinding our controls to Astoria web services and most probably some of the controls will receive ability to automatically generate appropriate get/post/delete queries. Stay tuned for more information on the matter after Q2, which is scheduled for the middle of the next week.

Hi Ben,

If you have any suggestions regarding this scenario please let us know. We will be glad to know what are the expectations - for example - will you need some kind of "embedded" functionality into the controls, or you expect only to be able to bind them to the web service?

@ Valeri;
Thanks for the good news!

@Valentin;
Very interesting comment from you. Almost like you read my mind when I wrote the original post.

 >>will you need some kind of "embedded" functionality into the controls, or you expect only to be able to bind them to the web service?<<

This part makes it interesting... And I'm happy to see you open about this. This can get tricky to offer automation or freedom.
At this point of Astoria's development, I've not had much of success to get docs or guidelines or samples working SL 2 with Astoria but I hope it will change soon.

To answer your question, I really need to get Astoria working with SL and then see if it makes sense to "Embed" some functionality of the client side into the components or just be able to bind to web service.

Just seeing this level of openness from your company, gives me comfort that Astoria will be supported in your product.

Thanks!
