can't get skins to work with datagrid

I have ver 3.5 of the grid (working on getting an upgrade).

I have two problems:
1) the auto-format preview feature does not work. Not even for the installed samples. The grid appears in the preview as unformatted.
2) styles are only partially applied. For example, selecting "Windows" as the skin results in a light blue border around the table but none of the images are downloaded. I have created a RadControls directory in my web application (.net 2.0) and dumped the grid skins in there. My directory looks like this:
e:\inetpub\<dir>\radcontrols\grid\skins.... etc

For the grid control the filter buttons do show up and work so the raddirectory property appears to be set correctly (~\radcontrols). The skins directory is ~\radcontrols\grid\skins.

Any ideas?

From the information supplied, I would suggest that you upgrade to the latest version of the control. This should take care of both issues.
