Deactivating an account is a common request, and we can handle it immediately.
Requests to delete a GDPR account, however, are treated differently. Before an account is deleted, we follow an internal procedure that calls for the customer to submit a formal request and legal review on our end. I can see why sending an email would be preferable, however as a business, we are required to abide by EU regulations around data protection and privacy.
Hi Mike,
May you please confirm you have submitted the deletion request?
If so, I will get my colleagues from Account management team to confirm when your data is expected to be deleted.
Kind Regards,
Iva

Hi Mike,
I see that you reached out with a request to have your account deleted. It has now been deactivated, which means that your access to “Your Account” had been stopped.
Account deactivation is a standard request, and we can act directly.
However, GDPR Account deletion requests are handled differently. We follow an internal process that includes an official request to be submitted by the customer and Legal revision on our end before the account is deleted. I can understand that it would be best if this can be completed with an email request, but as a business, we have an obligation to follow the EU law on data protection and privacy.
Best regards,
Iva
