Calendar Max Date Bug?

I'm having an issue setting the max date on the calendar.  The calendar currently shows May 2016 and has todays date selected (May 31st).  The min date set on the calendar is the first day of the previous month (April 1st).  The max date set on the calendar is the last day of the next month (June 30th).  I have buttons on the screen that change the months on the calendar.  These buttons call NavigateBack and NavigateForward respectively.  NavigateBack works fine however Navigate forward will not take me to June.

 

If I change the maxDate to July 1st, 2016 it will let me move to view June.  Why can I not select the last day of June to be the maximum date?  I don't want the user to be able to select July 1st, which they are able to do in the workaround described above.

A follow up question.  I'm now trying some work arounds where i'm setting the max date each time the user changes months so that I can allow it to transition while still only allow them to select a max of the 30th.  However, i'm using date range selection and each time i set a new max date the calendar wipes out my date range graphics...
