Hi,

can someone please clarify - with an appbuilder developer subscription can we not build a version of the app using an "AppStore" provision (Distribution) for IOS to download the ipa and manually submit to the appstore ?

i have imported my certs and provision profile but under Build it only shows the development provisions, and the publish option does not let you build only and just says you need a subscription ?

Cheers

Hi Niro,

We have replied in the support ticket you submitted but I will post the same information here for the community:

Unfortunately, as stated on our Telerik Platform pricing page, the Developer subscription does not include the Deploy to App Stores feature. This means, you won't be able to benefit from the AppBuilder Publish interface and also, all the apps you make within AppBuilder will be signed with developer certificates, that will prevent their future deployment to App Stores until they are resigned.

To assist you on the matter, I would suggest considering upgrading your Platform license to AppBuilder Professional or Platform Professional for example, as both contain the publish functionality. For more information about the AppBuilder licenses in particular, visit the AppBuilder pricing page.

If you would like to further discuss the AppBuilder purchase options, we can put you in contact with our sales representatives or you can reach them at sales@telerik.com.

Hi Tina,

I think my question has been mis-understood. I understand that publishing from Appbuilder directly to Appstore requires a professional license, however in a number of places it has been mentioned (including on the publish menu on appbuilder) that you can build it and submit it manually. My question is how do you manually build a IOS app using a "Distribution" provision for manual submission ? the Build menu does not allow this however instructions all over the support section and application refer to being able to do this.

Hi Niro,

I would like to first apologize for the confusion. AppBuilder does allow building and manually uploading your app to a mobile store, but this option is part of the Publishing wizard. The Build menu only allows you to use a development or AdHoc provisioning for the app. The Publish menu, on the other hand, allows you to sign the app with a distribution certificate. Then when the application package is built you can choose whether to submit it to the mobile stores manually or use AppBuilder to connect to a store and submit the app.

All options for app distribution through AppBuilder are described in this section of our documentation. I hope the information clears the matter a bit and we will be happy to further assist if you have more questions.
