Excellent product! nice and easy to use.
Works in most situations but still fail to locate linkbutton in multiview, multiview inside updatepanel and updatepanel inside radmultipage.

Hi Wei,

Thank you for the good words concerning the product.

We are looking for any issues to resolve them shortly. I'm afraid we are not aware of anything in regards to the MultiPage and UpdatePanel. Is there a live URL we can check out?

Also, do you mean you can't record an action with those links or do you mean the generated test execution fails? If the latter, could it be the test clicks on some button initiating an AJAX request then the next click fails with error stating the link cannot be found? You may need to add a verification the first request has updated something on the page before clicking the link.

If that does not help, can you submit a support ticket sending us the test project with the failing test? Thanks a lot in advance and please keep the feedback coming!

Best wishes,

I tested it again yesterday and I am afraid the behaviour appears random. Sometime it can’t find something else than linkbutton. (a panel or something else)

Our tested web application is so complex in design and it used a lot of update panel and dynamically loaded user control, probably that is why Web Aii failed sometime to catch a control. (the UniqueID of controls might change from time to time)

I’ll try to make a demo in my spare time.

Hi Wei,

In case of dynamically generated IDs we recommend modifying the element's search method.

Open the Elements Explorer and select the failing test step. You will get the element located (a yellow arrow pointing it). Right-click on the element and choose Edit Element. You'll probably find the 'Id' Attribute checked with 'Exact' method used. You can change it to 'Partial'.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

The following video might help in demonstrating how to update element searches:
