- Create a new story and assign it to a user
- Go to "View Stories"
- Find the story you just created (should be assigned to a user)
- Open the story details
At this point, the Assigned to field is always blank for me when viewing the story details, even though the story has been assigned. If I make any changes to the story, it clears the assigned to value that is saved and it shows as unassigned on the storyboard and dashboard.
I am running version 2010.2.916.0 Community Edition

I believe we have uncovered this same issue in our internal testing and have fixed it for the next release.
Could you confirm some details about this bug:
1) Does this only occur when you are typing in the name of a User that does not exist in the drop down list?
2) Does the same thing happen if you use the AssignedTo column in a Story Data Grid (View Stories, Progress Grid, etc.) to type in the name of a user who is not in the list?
Note: You can add the AssignedTo Column to your Grid by using the Edit Columns button located in the top left corder of the Data Grid.
I have updated your telerik account with some points for finding this issue.

I can confirm that the assigned to column in the grids accurately displays the user the story is assigned to. It appears to only be the story detail page that leaves the field blank.
Thanks for the info. Looks like this bug is worse than we thought. I have tried the same steps you described, and have been able to reproduce the issue in the Q2 SP1 build.
This issue is fairly bad, and we are considering ways to get a fix out for it.

I am happy to report that we have packaged up a release just to address this very issue.
You can download it at http://www.telerik.com/team-productivity-tools/account/downloads.aspx

I was just now able to get enough free time to install the Patch, but unfortunately it did not seem to fix the problem. The assigned to field is still cleared out every time I open a story.
Just to verify, I didn't have to uninstall Team Pulse before applying the patch did I. I just installed it against the existing application that was already installed.
You are correct, you should not need to do an uninstall before applying the patch.
The issue you are seeing could be a browser caching problem. Clearing your browser cache, or just the portions of the cache related to your TeamPulse site may fix the problem.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
