Hi,

Sorry I was not able to find this information so posting.

What browsers are officially supported/compatible for Silverlight controls by telerik? is it all browsers that silverlight is compatible with?

we made an app and it looks very different in IE vs firefox(does not work).

Thanks,
Kunal.

Hello Kunal,

RadControls for Silverlight are compatible with all browsers, supported by Silverlight. There is some additional functionality, that depends on the browser, such as the Mouse Wheel support and Right Mouse Button support, which is browser dependent. These features need the Silverlight plug-in to be in windowless mode, which is not supported by Safari on Mac. The browser dependent functionality is not UI, so you should get the same visual result in all browsers.

If you send us a simple sample application that demonstrates what's wrong with your project, we can provide some guidance.

Best wishes,

Hi Valeri,

Thanks for your response! I will compile our source into a simple project and send to you.

Just wanted to get your input on this a bit further though. Safari is supposed to be supported with silverlight 2. However the telerik silverlight controls demo page does not seem to load in safari at all.

Good to know though that safari is supported. Will send you our project. We are basically using the editor and htmlplaceholder.

Thanks,
Kunal

Hello Kunal,

The Silverlight controls demos run in windowless mode, which as my colleague explained is not supported by Safari. I hope this clears the confusion.

We will be expecting your project. Thank you for your assistance and understanding!

It seems the htmlplaceholder cannot be used with the property windowless="false".
so is there no way to use the htmlplaceholder for a safari compatible browser?

Hello Kunal Bagga,

Please note that the Safari browser under Windows OS is not official supported browser by the Silverlight runtime. The plans are that the bug with the windowless mode in Safari will be fixed when the Silverlight3 becomes official.

All the best,
