Bower does not show package updates

Hi,

I am using the Bower Package Manager in AppBuilder ClickOnce Client. I noticed that some of my packages are out of date but there is no warning from AppBuilder that I need to update.

For example, I was on version 1.21 of https://github.com/angular-ui/angular-google-maps and 2.0.12 is out. I go to Bower in AppBuilder and it just has an Install button, not an Update button like I would expect (and I would expect to be notified!)

So I had to delete it and re-add it - this seems strange?

Thanks for your feedback.
Indeed, the Bower package manager could be improved further and that is why I would ask you to add your feature request to our feedback portal. There is already a similar item where you can add your suggestion but you can open a new one if you like.
Our user's opinion is valuable for us and we do our best to implement their requests as long as they are highly demanded by our community.

Can you clarify:  Are you saying that the Package Manager does NOT alert you when there are new updates and handle the upgrade of those packages? 

Is this not the fundamental purpose of a Package Manager?

Hello Rodney,

I am afraid the Package Manager does not provide such notification yet. Its main purposes so far are to allow our users easily switch between different Kendo UI versions, grant an access to Bower packages and plugins from our marketplace.
I will log your request in our backlog and we will consider its implementation within the team.
