Block weekends

Can weekends be blocked from selection? In particular, can weekends be blocked while still allowing a range to cross a weekend?

I posted too soon. I was able to answer both questions and do what I need to do. With regards to blocking weekends, the documentation helped. With regards to crossing over those blocked weekends, the calendar creates a collection of date ranges, from which I can get what I need.
