You told me you prefer beta feedbacks in the forum, so let's got for some comments about rad Editor Beta Q2 2006 for SPS 2003
Our need : our intranet is mainly made of web documents (we try to use as less enclosed files as possible). We have more than 12 000 documents, and most are including images or enclosed files, which means that we have .aspx files + many associated "ressources" to store. Then, it is impossible to manage over 100 000 ressources in one single folder, and we have to manager each Page's ressources (images & enclosed files) in a specific folder, named according to each page's reference number (which we created).
The Issue : With the Q1 edition (v5.62), it was possible to open the Image manager already positionned in a specific folder, using the "PreselectPath" property.
However, this property does not exist anymore in the Q2 2006 version, which is a great issue for us, and the SelectItem method does not work.
So far, we are then forced to re-developp the Image Manager Interface, which is not at all a good thing for us...
Is there a possibility for you to reactivate the "preselectPath" property ?

Hi Fabrice,
With v6.5 of r.a.d.editor, the way the Manager Dialogs work changed and the Web Part implementation was modified accordingly. This is the reason some properties are missing.
If you mean the "PreselectedFilePath" property, it was intended for internal use only and was no longer needed in the new version. Maybe you can explain the way you use it and we can think of something similar for the Q2 version.

I think this will make the difference between a "simple" web content editor and a web content editor which can be used for web document Management in Sharepoint.
As I tried to explain it below (sorry for my english ;-), Sharepoint creates pages (.aspx) which can include Meta-data + web content + enclosed files. In the web content, Rad editor allows to use Images and to associate files. This means that one single Sharepoint .aspx file (let's call this a "Page") can be linked to many other files (resources) such as images and enclosed files.
Sharepoint's philosophy is to ask people to store the extra resources (images and enclosed files) of each page in the folder of their choice.
=> Let's imagine what can happen when you have more than 150 users managing more than 12 000 pages (my situation) which include over 50 000 resources (images and enclosed files) : resources are spread all over the server, and nobody can manage it properly.
Now, another situation : you have 12 000 pages with 50 000 resources, spread in your SPS server. Then, you now want to delete one page (and of course the associated resources !) : If there is no specific resources management tool or process, then you just cannot delete the resources, because you don't know where they are !
So, our request & need is the following : for each created page (ex : Page # 789), we must create a sub-folder dedicated to the page. rad Editor must then allow us to use a page ID, and then directly open this page's resources folder when the user want to upload or use a resource in a document.
I hope I am clear enough and that you will be able to help us. So far, we are forced to re-developp the Image manager, which is a pain... If needed, we can have a phone call about this.

We have escalated this feature request to our development team and they will discuss it in their next team meeting. We believe that this is possible to implement, but we need to research the domain in detail before we can come to a definite conclusion.
