Hello,
When it is used BareImage type edit buttons with the latest release v.2010.3.1318:
1. Update/Cancel buttons are not BareImage buttons too (I suppose they should be) but are Text type buttons
2. After updating/canceling editing the buttons on the row being edited become text type buttons.
3. After client side rebind() - all edit BareImage buttons become Text type buttons.

Indeed, I was able to observed the described behavior. However, I'm happy to inform you that we were able to address this issue and I have attached a build which contains the fix. I have updated your telerik points too.
