I was on my azure account and just notices "Azure Mobile Services".  I had a very quick look and i seems to be in the same vain as Icenium albeit (just from my quick look) much more complex in the sense that you seem to have to separate apps for each platform and no online code environment etc.

Has anyone had any experience with this.  Is there any real comparison or is it comparing apples and oranges?

Hello Kevin,

"Azure Mobile Services" is a backend as a service offering similar to Icenium Everlive. Everlive has some unique features like segmented/targeted push notifications and power fields to name a few. It also has cloud code execution and you can edit the code online or from Icenium Graphite (the Windows desktop client for Icenium)

Icenium as a whole provides much more than Azure Mobile Services and is a complete platform for building mobile applications including:

  • Tools like built-in mobile simulator, code editor and advanced code analysis
  • Frameworks like Apache Cordova for native API access and Kendo UI Mobile for native look and feel widgets
  • Services like Cloud Build, Everlive data storage and Everlive push notifications

Hope this helps to understand what's the difference between the two products. I would be glad to help if you want to dive in Icenium's capabilities.
