What I am noticing is that, I build my solution in Visual Studio, I build & publish the app into the cloud services, wait for the barcode to show up from the publish process, then I update the app and it does not give me the latest version of my software. I tried a couple times, no luck. Next day I pick up my iPad and suddenly I have the latest version of my App. And I did not start up my development machine yet ...

I tried this process also with updating from within the companion app and I got the same results..... it took 16 hours before I got the latest version of my App. I know this, because I manually set version numbers in my views and scripts.....

.....

Hello Marco,

What you are reporting is not an expected behavior. However, since the LiveSync workflow in the extension is not at all intuitive, I am obliged to confirm that you are sticking to it. The workflow that is expected to work is the following.

1. Build your app for the companion app.
2. Scan the QR code to load your project in the companion app.
* On an iOS device, you can use the built-in QR code scanner. Tap and hold with two fingers on the left border of the screen to open the menu, select the scanner and scan the code.
* On an Android device, you might need to Share the code to the companion app via the built-in share option in your QR code scanner.
3. Change your code in Visual Studio.
4. Select AppBuilder -> Synchronize with Cloud from the main menu bar in Visual Studio. Wait for the confirmation in the log. This step is a must.
5. Tap and hold with three fingers on the device until the download popup appears.
6. Wait for the download to complete.

Keep in mind that currently we have identified an issue where restarting an app might cause all livesynced changes to be discarded. In this case, just use the 3-finger refresh gesture to get your changes back again.

Let me know if you are still experiencing issues with your LiveSync in the companion app. Thanks!

I am also having the same issue. I am building and deploying my app using App builder. Its getting deployed successfully. But, when I made some modifications to my source code and save, the changes are not reflecting in my device app. Is it not the expected behaviour? I believe  once you made any changes the changes should automatically reflect in device. I am also seeing a new app icon in my android device. I think this changes should run on Companion App is n't it? correct e if I am wrong

Hi Bala Chandra V,

Unfortunately, your current inquiry does not contain enough details for us to provide the most accurate answer. You might want to get familiar with the extensive LiveSync documentation here. It explains in detail how the different types of LiveSync, under different setups and circumstances work.

For example, your saved changes will be pushed automatically to device only if your device is currently connected to your system and you have already deployed your app on it (or, alternatively, you have the companion app installed). This scenario, however, will work only in the AppBuilder clients that support working with connected devices. In another scenario, based on your current AppBuilder client and deployment method, you will need to use the three finger refresh gesture to get your changes. And so on.

Let us know if you have any further questions. We would really appreciate it if you provide more details about your current setup and context, so that we can assist you in the most efficient manner.
