AppBuilder (Windows client) unable to connect to internal private GIT repository, which is not accessible via internet. This is an anticipated behavior for the browser based client, but I am unclear so as to why the desktop client is unable to establish connectivity!

Any ideas anyone?

Hello Somesh,

Thank you for using AppBuilder

I'm afraid that this scenario is not supported. The AppBuilder Windows Client is not directly cloning the repository on your machine but instead the cloning process is performed on our server. Because the AppBuilder Windows Client is entirely a cloud-based IDE  all version control operations are executed on Telerik Platform servers. So this enforces the requirement to have a public http or https endpoint so our services can access and clone the repository for you. You can read more about the requirements for connecting to third-party Git providers here.

Although clone operations from a third-party Git provider which is not accessible via internet are not supported in the In-Browser client  and Windows client of AppBuilder, you can use the command-line interface or the extension for Visual Studio.

Let me know if you have any further questions I can address for you.
