There is extra header space at the top of the App Builder companion app when I deploy to an iPhone. Is this something I need to compensate for in my CSS?

It seems it tries to save space for the status bar (time, signal strength) at the top of the iPhone.

Hello Matthew,

What you are reporting is not really an expected behavior. Would you mind providing the following details so we can identify the issue?
  • What is your iPhone device (model and current OS version)?
  • What is the version of your companion app? Are you running the latest version?
  • Does your app use the StatusBar plugin?
  • Are you using Kendo or jQuery Mobile in your project? What is the version of the framework?

Thank you for your assistance.

Device: iPhone 5S, iOS 7 (latest version)
Companion Version: Latest from App Store
StatusBar Plugin: No
Kendo UI Mobile (Kendo UI Complete v2013.3.1119 )

Basically, this problem exists, out of the box, with the sample FriendsApp, which is what I'm running.

Thank you.

Hi Matthew,

I have been able to observe the reported issue within the app, after logging in and navigating through the other pages of the app. After some examination, it seems to be a Kendo version related issue. This project uses 1119 and which is an older version, containing an older fix for the iOS 7 status bar issue.

If you manually update the Kendo framework files, the issue disappears. You can get the latest verified Kendo framework version that AppBuilder ships by creating a new Kendo UI Mobile project and copying the entire kendo folder from it onto the one in your Friends app. For more details, check this procedure.

I have logged this for fixing in a future release of AppBuilder. Thank you!
