The new product is looking great so far, but I have an enhancement request when finding a file.
I have a standard database project in my solution, but when I do a "Navigate|Go to File" I can't go to any of the files in that project. It only seems to find .cs, .aspx, .ascx files.
Is it possible to have it also do a find in the database project?
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,
This is already on our todo list and hopefully we'll be able to implement it for the next build (next Friday).
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Just one other question Chris. Is the build next friday going to be available publicly?

Hi Greg,
Yep, it will be publicly available. Also once we release it, you'll be notified through the JustCode auto update feature.

Hi Chris. I downloaded the latest build on Friday (1127 I think), but it still isn't finding my database files.
It is just a standard "Database Project", but JustCode still doesn't find my stored procedures, views, etc.
Any thoughts?

Hi Greg,
JustCode now finds all the files in the solution and not only the analyzed files (e.g. text files, images, etc.). Unfortunately JustCode still doesn't look into "not supported" projects just like the database project which you're using. So JustCode will find these files if the same files appear in a normal project (class library, web site, etc.). We'll try to improve this behavior for the next build.
Sincerely yours,
Chris

Thanks Chris, if you could keep me up to date that would be great. This is the one thing that is preventing me from using the product now, but it would also prevent my company from purchasing it in the future as well.
Thanks again,
Greg

Hi Greg,
We didn't know it's that important for you. :)
We implemented this feature and it will be available in the next internal build (tomorrow or by the end of the week).

Hello Greg,
As promised this feature was implemented in the latest internal build and you should be able to find these files now with the Go To File dialog. Just download the latest JustCode internal build and try it.
Should you have any problems with it, don't hesitate to contact us.
All the best,
Chris

Hi Chris. I've done a little testing with the new build and it still doesn't appear to finding the files. I believe I downloaded build 1207, I'll do more testing to see if it was something I was doing.

Did you manage to check again whether JustCode finds the files in the DB project you're using? We can't reproduce this locally and JustCode successfully finds files in such projects.

Hi Chris,
I have tried it again and actually uninstalled and reinstalled and it is still not finding the files. I'll see if I can make a sample solution that recreates the issue.

I have a sample solution but it doesn't look like I can upload it as it is a zip. Should I open a support ticket?
There are two projects in it, a standard class library and a database project. I can find files in the class library using "ctrl+alt+g", but not in the database project. In fact, I had to add the class library to even get the "Go To File" dialog to open.
I was doing my testing using the version that was released today (build 1211).
Hope this helps,
Greg

Can you please open a new support ticket and attach the sample solution there? That will help us a lot.

Hi Greg,
Thanks a lot for sending us the sample solution! It helped us reproduce the problem. It turned out that we had tested JustCode against some other types of projects and we still don't index correctly the files in the DB project which you're using. We'll fix this for the next build.
Sincerely yours,
Chris
