Hi:

I'm a bit confused about the 60-day limit on trials.

In the past, I have always used a trial edition for development.  When we roll out a Silverlight web site for a custome reviewr, they will typically use the trial edition until they are ready to go to customers, at which time they buy a license.

As a developer am I going to need to buy a license, or will my trial versions continue to work forever in Visual Studio as they have in the past?

Thanks,

Terry

Hello Terry,

Thank you for contacting us!

The free trial licenses of all Telerik products are fully functional and will work for an unlimited time but with trial messages displayed randomly on the page.

What expires is the free trial support, that you get when downloading a trial license. Thus when your 60 days are over you will no longer be eligible to post tickets to our technicians through your Telerik account, though you will still be able to work with the software.

I hope this clarifies the things for you. Let me know if you have any further questions and I will be glad to assist you.

Kind regards,

That's a great licensing model. It facillitates adoption of your software as developers are not tied to a vendor during the risky phase of prototyping & developing. Thumbs up from me! :)

If I install telerik silverlight controls trial version and then if I decide to buy it, will I need to reinstall the components or how does it work?

Thanks,
Syed

Hi Syed,

Indeed you will get the dev version when you buy it.
