On this episode of React Wednesdays we welcomed Brandon Bayer (@flybayer), creator of Blitz.js.
Blitz.js is a full-stack framework that’s built on top of Next.js, and inspired by full-stack frameworks like Ruby on Rails. This was pretty exciting as full-stack frameworks have been growing like crazy in the React world lately.
Brandon was awesome and demoed Blitz.js for us, and answered our questions of why you should use Blitz.js over just using Next, and where Blitz.js got its name from.

Working in large React apps brings up new and fun concerns. Like, how do you organize your files so your team can find things? How do you agree on which dependencies to use? And, how to ensure that tabs versus spaces arguments don’t ruin friendships?
Luckily, on this episode we welcomed Paige Niedringhaus (@pniedri), who has a ton of experience working in large React apps and teams at The Home Depot. Paige shared some tips & tricks she’s learned over the years, and demoed some of her tips for us!

On this episode of React Wednesdays, we welcomed Dragomir Răzvan (@razvandragomir), author of the recently viral article “I Almost Got Fired for Choosing React in Our Enterprise App”.
We used Dragomir’s article as a guide and chatted about React in the enterprise in general. Like, when is React a good fit and when is it not? What are some good practices to make React work better on large teams? And what recommendations does Dragomir have for developers starting new enterprise projects today?

On this episode of React Wednesdays, we welcomed the folks from Flagsmith (@GetFlagsmith) to come hang out and demo their service live!
Feature flags are one of those development concepts that seem simple, but can get complex really fast in real-world apps. So much so, that there are entire services devoted to help you manage these flags.
This was also a good way to check out how you use feature flags in your production apps.

On this episode of React Wednesdays talked with Chuck Pierce (@ChuckAPierce) about Volta, a “hassle-free JavaScript tool manager” that just hit version 1.0.
Volta was interesting to me because it’s built in Rust, which gives it a big speed boost over competing JavaScript tooling options that are almost universally built with JavaScript.
Chuck demoed Volta for us live, and we had the chance to ask questions. Check this out if you’re curious, or if you’ve ever struggled with managing Node.js versions across your applications.
