Hello Garry Clark,
We have plans to port RadRichTextBox for Silverlight to WPF by the end of this year. Otherwise we are not aware of any approach to use this Silverlight control in WPF application, other than linking to a web-site or to an Out Of Browser Silverlight app from your WPF app.
Best wishes,
Mike

Mike,
No problem. I was just working on a very similar control for a WPF application I am developing and when I saw this in the Q2 release I was hoping you guys had once again saved me some work ;P
I knew the Silverlight and WPF controls were pretty much in synch which is why I was surprised that there was no WPF counterpart to this one.
I'll keep my eye open for it as I often need this type of functionality in my applications.
Thanks!

Hello Garry Clark,
RadRichTextBox is not an exception and the WPF counterpart will be ready hopefully in several months. Q2 was its first official release and we need some more time to port many other WPF specific modules.
All the best,

I am doing the similar development, RTF and Richtextbox in WPF, do the Mail merge, print preview, print multi-page, document page preview, adding header/footer etc. I would love to have Telerik RadRichtextbox for WPF doing the same.

Hi Sokrat Saydahmat,
We have all the features you mentioned as well as WPF version of RadRichTextBox in our to-do list and hopefully most of these will be available in Q3.

2. Page numbering
3. Page orientation setup
4. "Save as", save content of RTF to diffirent a file format, such as PDF, Doc, Docx, HTML

Hello Sokrat Saydahmat,
Thank you for your suggestions!
In Q2 SP1 all of the format providers have convenient methods for export to/import from byte array trough IDocumentFormatProvider interface, as you suggested.
Page orientation and tables support are planned for Q3.We will consider other features too, however the to-do list for Q3 is already full, so I can't tell you anything more specific.

Alex,
It sounds like the RichTextBox for WPF will be released in some form in Q3. Can we get a beta version of it so I can start playing with it?
Thanks!

Hi Garry Clark,
Many important features of RadRichTextBox are missing as of Q2 and we're working heavily to deliver a few of them for Q3. In the development plans are tables support, spell checking and PDF exporting, so unfortunately, the WPF version might not be available for the beta release, this will be a last-minute decision.
Feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions.

This is sad, sad news. :( I understand though and guess I'll just roll a quick editor for the time being and when you release yours upgrade to it. That is assuming that all standard WPF RichTextBox functionality will be included.
Anyhow thanks for the update and really looking forward to this.

Hi Garry Clark,
Thanks for understanding. We will do our best to squeeze the WPF version in for Q3 if possible. In the meanwhile you can help us a lot if you give us details about the scenario you will be using it and which features you will need the most, besides the basic text formatting.

Hi,
Please can you give information about the date will be distributed RichTextEditor in WPF? There are more discussions and requests about that control and words as in Q3 planned but not in Q3 unfortunately. And secondly, view doc(docx) file in radbook related that issue.
Is there planned date?
Thanks

Hello Hidayet,
We are actively working on WPF version of RadRichTextBox and the first public beta is scheduled for the end of January 2011. Official release is planned for Q1 2011 version, expected around the end of March 2011.
RadBook integration and all formats currently supported in Silverlight version will be available in WPF version too. Also, we are doing our best to implement RTF support for Q1 2011, but nothing specific is currently available.

In our WPF application we have a need for using images in the Richtextbox (RTB). I understand that Telerik is about to make available a WPF RTB control in Jan 2011 end. Specifically I have a question about "text wrapping around images". Will that be possible tin the new RTB control?
So when I edit a rtf doc in MS word, I have an option in
"Page Layout -> Arrange - > Text Wrapping" to set the wrapping of text arouind images.
Will that be possile in the RTB control?

Hi Robin,

RadRichTextBox for WPF CTP has already been shipped. You can read more about where you can find it in this blog post.
It incorporates the same functionality as the Silverlight version. Thus, only inline images will be available for now. Text-wrapping around images is not scheduled for Q1 2011, so I cannot provide you with a specific timeline for this feature.
If you have other questions, do not hesitate to get back to us.

Thanks

Hello Hidayet ÇELEN,
As this is CTP version, we decided to release it in trial version only. We can supply you with non-trial build on demand, however. I will continue our conversation in support ticket you opened.
Kind regards,
