Hello,

I have a very strange problem that I have not managed to solve and am hoping someone can point me at the cause of our issue.  We have a Windows 8.1 UWP side-loaded application which connects to a central server over HTTP.  Let's call this Site A.  The UWP application in Site A connects to the central server succesfully.

However, we have another location (called Site B) which runs the same UWP application but is unable to connect to the central server at Site A unless Fiddler is running.  Interestingly, Internet Explorer connects to the central server in Site A without fiddler running.

I understand Fiddler is a proxy and allows UWP application to be disabled from loopback check.

Please can someone help, what changes does Fiddler make to the Registry etc that would cause the UWP application in Site B to work?

Kind Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

It is a little difficult to follow the complete scenario with the different sites. Additionally, there could be a wide range of causes. However, we have an existing blog post that provides a description of the various issues and their causes. I recommend reviewing the Help! Running Fiddler Fixes My App?? post and seeing if that resolves the issue.

As for the Registry Changes, these are only used for configuration and can be found at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Fiddler2]. It might also be useful to compare the registry settings of Fiddler for two sites and making any necessary changes.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for using the Fiddler Forums.
