You will be automatically upgraded as soon as the UI for Universal Winows Platform product is official.

Hi
from Yesterday UI for UWP is official, but from Telerik dashboard the license is still trial (I have a valid license of the UI for Windows Universal).
Can you please tell me when I will get the license of UI for UWP?
Thanks
Thank you for the question.
Due to the differences in the technology stack in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, we are discussing internally if the 'upgrade' to UI for UWP should be automatic or not. You, however, have downloaded the UI for UWP Beta at the end of November, and according to this promo, you will get a complimentary license for UI for UWP by the end of the current week.

What is the upgrade path from Windows Universal to Universal Windows Platform? Surely there is something, as Windows Universal is essentially a dead product, both from an MS, as well as Telerik point of view.
I keep asking sales, but never get a response.

Subject: Upgrade options to 'UI for Universal Windows Platform'
I currently have a
license for ‘UI for Windows Universal’, and I now see that 'UI for Universal
Windows Platform' is now available, but there is no upgrade path. ‘UI for
Windows Universal’ is legacy Windows 8.1 and 'UI for Universal Windows
Platform' is for Windows 10.
I have no plans on
using ‘UI for Windows Universal’ because I do dev in Windows 10 anyway, for
which I have been using the previous ‘universal’ version successfully.
Please let me know
what the upgrade costs are from ‘UI for Windows Universal’ to 'UI for Universal
Windows Platform'

Thank you for this question.
Regardless of how it may seem on the surface, we still have customers interested in development for UI for Windows Universal, and even for UI for Windows Phone 8. The target OS platforms of the UI for WU and UI for UWP are different (8.1 vs 10), so generally speaking we can't talk about 'update' as none of the products cover the other one entirely (unlike the update from UI for WU to DevCraft which contains UI for WU and other products) and the UI for WU is an active product rather than a discontinued one. So, these are two separate products and if you want UI for UWP this would mean obtaining a separate license for it. Again, we have internal talks as to what we can do it the situation and if there could be an 'upgrade' that should be automatic, or per request, or with an 'update' price, but I can't provide more details at the moment. I hope that we will be able to come out with an official statement soon.

The forced downgrade (missing components) of Win 10 UWP components even though most of the code has been brought over from Windows 8.1 virtually unchanged tends to make the logic expressed about product versions rather tenuous.
With the exception of mapping features, I was able to port over all of the Win 8.1 code to Win 10 with relative ease. Win 8.1 to Win 10 should have been an automatic upgrade given how little work Telerik had to do to make this happen.
The fact that UWP is still missing features is even more curious?
When talking about missing components, I suppose you mainly compare our WPF/WP suites with the WU/UWP suites. The WU/UWP are relatively new suites in the portfolio of Telerik UI products, while the UI for WPF/WP product is a mature product with about 8 (6 for WP) years of history and development behind. When it comes to UI for WU vs. UI for UWP, almost the complete set of WU components was ported to UI for UWP. Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, although similar on the surface though, has some differences which potentially require dedicated QA cycles (which we are doing) for two different platforms and products in order to ensure a quality product. And, we are doing some more UWP dedicated features like for example the ability of our DataGrid for UWP to have UI representations for both the phone and tablet/desktop factor.
I would be happy to hear your feature requests for the UI for UWP suite, as you implied there are features you need from it. We are already aware about your ImageEditor needs, but let us know if you need something else from the suite.
