Hello Kolthuru,

Thank you for reaching out to the Fiddler support team! To enable capturing traffic from Android.iOS devices, the following conditions must be satisfied:

- The FIddler Classic host machine and the mobile device must operate in the same network.

- The Fiddler Classic proxy port (by default 8888) must be opened in the network (no administrative restrictions).

- Fiddler Classic must be enabled to allow remote computers to connect (through Tools > Fiddler Options > Connections > Allow Remote Computers to Connect ).

All of the above steps are described in detail in the following article: https://docs.telerik.com/fiddler/configure-fiddler/tasks/configureforandroid

If you are still encountering trouble accessing the Fiddler proxy (from the mobile device), that might mean that there are network restrictions that prevent access to the Fiddler proxy address. You can try to change the network (for both the host and the mobile device) and, for example, use the non-restricted public network or hotspot.

I hope you will find the above information helpful, but please do not hesitate to contact us if you need additional information.

Hi Nick,

I have tried the above steps, but I am facing 2 issues.

1. When proxy details were setup in the mobile showing as "No Internet Connection".

2. When I have tried to access fiddler portal to download the trusted root certificate, mobile unable to access the page.

Please do help me with this how to overcome.

Thanks & Regards,

Eesufvali

From within Fiddler's application, the only requirement is to have the "Allow remote computers to connect" option enabled.

Both "no internet connection" and the inability to access the Fiddler Classic download page (http://ipv4.fiddler:8888) indicate that your mobile device is not "seeing" the Fiddler host machine. If the above option is enabled, then that could be because both devices are on a different network or because the network access is limited. In both cases, a possible approach is to contact your network administrator or test against a different network with no limitations.

As a side note, you can also test to use and configure Fiddler Everywhere (a modern-day alternative to Fiddler Classic) through the instructions posted here: https://docs.telerik.com/fiddler-everywhere/traffic/configure-android (note that the port is different and by default is 8866).
