Dear Team ,

I need to distribute an app to in-house iOS devices.

Currently the available option is to send user registration email along with UDID(register the device)option.

I am thinking of creating a single user, share the credentials to all employees and then directly send them the link to "Register Devices"

The employees will then just use the shared credentials and install the profile that gets the UDID.

This will reduce one step for the employees , but I am not sure if this is the best way to do it or if it has any impacts.

Could you please let me know is there any simpler way to get the employees UDIDs.

Please let me know if more clarity is needed

Hello,

The optional email for getting the device UDIDs seems the most appropriate means in Telerik Platform for gathering the user devices UDIDs.

In regard to the approach you are considering I can think of the following trade offs. I feel obliged to share that the following are just in regard the distribution process in Telerik Platform and without knowing the full set of details around your use case. Certainly I can also see that there are the usual trade offs when using the same credentials for all users for access to a system that requires authentication.

With the approach proposed by you the following concerns with using the Distribution service in Telerik Platform may arise:

1. You will need to manually register the common user account
2. You will need to forward the UDID registration email (received for the created user account) to all employees
3. If you need to track device installations and other options based on user account, you will get results for one account only.
4. You will not be able to segment the users and all will be able to access the same apps, versions, etc.

Let me know if I was able to answer your questions.
