We are using a treelist view for rather large amounts of data (several thousand rows) and noticing quirky scrolling both horizontal and vertical. Are there some general optimizations we can look at to get the scrolling to behave a little more predictably?

Also, is the expected behavior to only display filtering options for the selected node? If so can this be overridden somehow?

Hi Marc,

Unfortunately these are known limitations of the TreeListView. Due to the specific nature of hierarchical data, currently it can filter only on items in the root level.

I am afraid nothing can be done with the current version . We are already working on improving performance with large data. We have plans to extend the filtering as well . These however will come in future versions.

Better results in performance and filtering can be achieved using RadGridView with its hierarchy feature but only in case your project requirements fit  such alternative.

Sincerely,

Thank you for your reply. We are using the control to view large bill of materials for complicated product structures and look forward to future enhancements in performance and functionality.
