Hi, is there a way to have HTTPs option be turned on during setup, or via an extension ?
Similarly for Win8 exclusions ?

The scenario is using Fiddler for diagnosing HTTPS issues for users that may not be very technical and for whom the manual steps for turning on HTTPs and Win8 exclusions are error prone. But having them execute a script that installs fiddler and an extension is lower bar and less error prone.

Thanks

Just learned about FiddlerCore and FiddlerCap.
Think those take care of HTTPs. Will check them for Win8 exclusion support.

Would still be nice to have an option in Fiddler setup to enable both HTTPs and Win8 exclusions. I find myself doing that every time on VMs.

Just found about EnableLoopback.exe :)

Think I have everything I need, and FiddlerCore looks really nice.

Thanks for Fiddler!

Hi, Vasco--

It's technically possible to enable loopback extensions and HTTPS decryption inside Fiddler by setting the appropriate registry keys and generating and trusting a root certificate using makecert, but this isn't a supported option because we need the flexibility to change things in the future.

For lightweight captures from non-technical users, FiddlerCap is the way to go.

Note that EnableLoopback is only needed for Windows 8+ "Metro" style applications; it's not needed for most applications.
