Hi,

For some reason WebAii Safari Assistant isn't working.  I have a trail version of the WebUI test studio developer edition. I try to perform a quick test execution and it launches Safari 4.0.5 (WebAii Safari Assistant) to this page - file:///C:/Program%20Files/Telerik/WebUI%20Test%20Studio%202010.1/Browser%20Extensions/Safari/start.html.  Nothing happens after that, it just remains on this Safari start page.  The first step in the test is to navigate to the test url.  If I switch to IE or FF, the test executes successfully.  Anyone else experiencing this issue with Sarfari?

I have checked the configuration settings for Safari based on http://www.artoftest.com/support/webaii/topicsindex.aspx?topic=configuresafari3

The test fails due to execution timeout.  See below:
Overall Result: Fail
--------------------------------------------------
'5/17/2010 4:38:09 PM' - Unexpected exception during execution.
'5/17/2010 4:38:09 PM' - System.TimeoutException: Wait for condition has timed out

at ArtOfTest.Common.WaitSync.For[T](Predicate`1 predicate, T target, Boolean invertCondition, Int32 timeout)

at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Manager.LaunchNewBrowser(BrowserType browserToLaunch, Boolean waitForBrowserToConnect, ProcessWindowStyle windowStyle)
   at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Core.Manager.LaunchNewBrowser()
at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.Execution.ExecutionEngine.Initialize(Settings settings, String deploymentDirectory, ExecutionType exeType)
at ArtOfTest.WebAii.Design.Execution.TestExecuteProxy.ExecuteTest(Test test, Settings settings, String deploymentFolder, ExecutionType exeType)
--------------------------------------------------
'5/17/2010 4:38:09 PM' - Overall Result: Fail
--------------------------------------------------

Thanks,
Tyson

Hi Tyson,

Thanks for the post and question. Do you have Silverlight installed on your machine? If not, please try using Safari after installing Silverlight.

If you do have Silverlight installed, please reply back with what version of Windows you have and if you are using a user  account that is part of the Admin Groupd for the machine.

Sincerely,
Nelson Sin

Hi Nelson,

I do not have Silverlight installed on my machine.  We are unable to install Silverlight on our machines at this time.  Is there a workaround for this without having to install Silverlight?

Windows version: XP SP3

Thanks
Tyson

Hello again Tyson,

Unfortunately, there is not a work around as Silverlight is a requirement for Safari automation. I apologize if this was not as well documented as it should have been.

If you can please continue your trial and testing in the other 2 supported browsers, or if possible, test in Safari on a dedicated virtual or physical testing machine.

Sincerely,
Nelson

Nevermind, I missed a setting in the configuration of the browser (pop up blocker)
Sorry for the clutter
