Hi there,

I believe this question might be used to ask frequently. But I still would like to ask whether it is possible that RadGridView can also export image into excel file in the future? If not, please let me ask about some idea.

I already know the issue of why image can't be embedded and exported from this topic: http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/silverlight/gridview/export.aspx

But then rather than embedded, is it possible that you try to put the image above the cell and calculating the position of the images that will be placed above each cell? Lately, I worked with some 3rd party developement tools and it is possible to export excel file with embedded image inside (The same idea that I explained, however, the tool is for ASP.NET). In addition, I saw that we can export RadChart into excel file by convert chart into image. Is it possible that RadGridView will use the same idea as RadChart?

By the way, Thanks for your answer

Hi,

We will not improve the functionality of the Export() method any more.  You may use the RadDocument for exporting images to the formats specified in this help article. In order to export an image, you should add it to the RadDocument.

Then is it possible that in the future there will be a format for Excel too?

I know Excel has some constraints comparing to others, but it doesn't mean we cannot put any image into the Excel file. If possible, then I think it is good that we can use RadDocument to export file in any format we want.
